Bonhams sells single-owner collection of eleven Rolex Submariner ‘Hulks’

Bonhams sells single-owner collection of eleven Rolex Submariner ‘Hulks’

The Bonhams online auction from August 12-22 will capitalize on the current love affair with colorful Rolex tool watches, with 11 “Hulks” owned by a single seller going under the hammer.

Released in 2022, the “Hulk” is an all stainless steel Submariner date best swiss replica watches with an emerald green bezel and matching dial. Housed in a 40mm case, it differs in many ways from its predecessor, the “Kermet.”

The most obvious difference is the green dial that replaces the glossy black on the Kermit. The Hulk also features a green Cerachrome bezel, blue luminescence instead of the earlier green, slightly wider lugs, and crown protectors, and an oyster strap with an extension system. However, the 3135 automatic movement remains unchanged in both models.

The Hulk was discontinued by Rolex in 2020 and replaced by the 41 mm Rolex Submariner 126610 LV – nicknamed the “Starbuck.”

In its final year of production, the Ref. 116610LV Hulk retailed for £7,550 in the UK, although there was a long waiting list to buy at retail, and secondary market prices were at least twice that.

As Rolex mania grows and green continues to be the most popular color in the collector world (check out the waiting list for the 2022 Rolex GMT-Master II “Destro”), the Hulk is only going to get more expensive. This means that Bonhams will likely exceed its high estimate.

The 11 watches are all unworn, new old stock, with boxes, papers, and receipts that represent each year of production. There is also a limited edition quarter-scale (approximately 2.5 feet) “Hulk” sculpture made by NMK Studios, estimated at $2,000 to $3,000.

said Nate Borgelt, Head of Bonhams Watches USA.” We are pleased to offer an unworn example of the Rolex Hulk in an unprecedented sales concept that allows collectors to acquire what can only be described as a discontinued but new cheap fake watch. In the current market, where availability and condition are king, these Hulks meet all the requirements of the discerning collector and everyday wearer.”

Bonhams.com’s online auction will run?from August 12-22?with an estimate of $30,000-$60,000.

In addition to being a watch collector, the seller is also a car enthusiast, and with that in mind, the collection will be on display at the Bonhams Quail auction during the Pebble Beach Race, August 17-19.
